Introduction To The Web And The Internet
The internet is defined as multiple computers connected together to send and receive information, this connection is also called the web.
Over the years, the web and internet has evolved from being used only by scientists to being used in almost all households in the web.
One good reason i find the internet so facinating is, it has evolved into being another planet on earth where almost every transaction and activity can be carried out while lying on the bed thereby making life easier for everyone.
The easiness of the internet is made possible by what are known as websites and browsers, websites are complex codes browsers understand, the codes as i mentioned is rendered by this browsers.
There are two types of websites, Static and Dynamic websites, static websites has all it's website content manually updated, this type of website sucks and are mainly used for adverts by it's webmaster, while dynamic websites has databases and updates automatically.
Here is how the web works, first, you have to type address of the computer you want to connect to into the browser, this address is also called Internet Protocol(IP), this IPs are assigned by Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The browser then queries the ip and requests for the file you requested, the ip takes the request and looks it up, if it is found, it is then returned to the browser for rendering.
However, as IPs are Numbers, it might not be very convinient typing numbers all the time, so domains are being used instead, this are memorable characters which can be both words and numbers e.g, goole.com, this domains then masks the IPs, however the browser needs to unmask the IP first before it understands the route to take while requesting for the file you are looking for.

There is a high chance your system might get infected by a ransomware, these are programs that encrypt yout files and ask for ransoms incase you want to decrypt it, this programs spread really fast and you can pick them up by just surfing your favorite website, that's scary right?? considering you might either have to pay the programmers to decrypt your files or format your system.
Heres is another disavantage of the internet to our lives, there is what is called a dark web, this is where all illegal acts being done in the real live is done in the internet, imagine you visited one of this dark website and and saw a video where a human is being cut into pieaces, sounds scary right?? you might not be able to sleep for a whole night, or imagine seeing two people a cocaine deal, oh, and there ain't cops around, thats kind of weird but it happens.
Here is another one, consider your 14 year old son clicked 'AM 18' on a porn website, thats a big advantage i will admit.
Also you stand a big chance of getting scamed on the internet.
